New Drain Pipe
The new drain pipe went into the basement and vent into the kitchen wall. Electrical wiring continutes.

Another Beam, Planning Electrical
More drywall and painting to be added to the plan. Movement of a beam in the basement caused some lovely cracks/tears in the recently painted dining room.

Moving Along
Today the framing continued a bit - mostly where the old pantries came out. The new cabinet layout was marked on the floor with tape. Still hard to imagine what it will feel like, but hopefully bigger.

New Basement Door
Old kitchen wiring continues to be removed. Old basement door is framed in and new kitchen door and new basement door are open to the hall.

Day 5
Not much going on as far as pictures. They patched the roof, removed the insulation and wiring and started to take out the basement door.

We're All Done With Green
CJ likes to say that we're all done with green. Plans for the new kitchen are pretty neutral. Lava gray marmoleum, white cabs, white subway backsplash, oiled soapstone and walnut counters and a tan wall color on the small area that won't be covered with cabinets or backsplash.

It's not part of the kitchen plans. The extra space, however, will be very welcome and Daddy has plans to use some of the bricks in the yard.
